| This dollar is a stunning
example of the best that classic Proof coinage has to offer! For any fan
of deep, original toning, it just does not get much better than this. This
amazing dollar is a deep cobalt blue with some hint of red included. The
only detraction whatsoever is a nick in front of Liberty's knee where
another dollar contacted this coin leaving three tiny reed marks.
Otherwise the surfaces are virtually flawless and hairline free. That tiny
nick is actually a blessing in disguise, as this dollar would otherwise be
priced well above many new cars. Original mintage was 800 coins, and these
could be purchased at the mint at that time for all of $1.08!
