Presents:
1865 Indian Head Cent
ICG Proof-65 Red & Brown

Proof mintage = 500
Business strike mintage = 35,429,286

| A very attractive early
Proof Indian cent. The color is very even overall, being a pleasing gold
color. The surfaces are clean and reflective, with no hairlines.
Certainly, a very pleasing specimen that grades a no questions asked
Proof-65 Red Brown. Superior to the often seen dull brown color that
plagues many 1865 Proofs. Please note that what appears to be a flaw by
Miss Liberty's chin is actually a flaw on the plastic slab. A better date
with a mintage in the area of 500 pieces. A great many of the coins from
that original mintage have been impaired in one way or another in the last
almost 140 years, mostly due to harsh cleaning, making this a very
desirable piece. The amazing thing is that you can buy this early, scarce
1865 Proof Indian for only four times the price of the most common date in
the same grade. That's crazy!
