Light gray color. No
distinguishing die characteristics other than a tiny, shallow die chip
between the top bar and the loop of the number 5. The reverse is a bit
flashier and brighter than the obverse. Total mintage is only 3,790 Proofs
and 1,000 business strikes, so even in Good-4 condition the 1885 three
cent piece has a value of $300! When looking at the scan, please note that
the two scratches visible on the obverse are actually on the slab, not on
the coin.
